1st Byte, a leading digital printer and Mirri print partner, based in London have printed a spectacular brochure cover for renowned artist Petroc Sesti using the newly certified Mirri Pak for HP Indigo material. The cover was for Petroc’s latest catalogue brochure, showcasing his most recent works. Petroc Sesti is a British artist born in London in 1973. He attended the Byam Shaw School of Art & Chelsea School of Art. His work has been described as straddling the boundaries between art & science with an enchanting hint of alchemy with projects run all around the world from Shanghai to New York.

The catalogue cover was printed 4 colour + white using an HP Indigo 7000 series on 415mic/300gsm Mirri Pak for HP Indigo in silver, using Color-Logic software to selectively place the white in the image. The image used was one of Petroc’s own photographs and he worked with the 1st Byte creative team to match the exact effect he wanted from the image. Fifty books in total were made, at a size of 262mm x 262mm. Both the front and back covers of Mirri Pak for HP Indigo were held together with black cloth and PUR bound.

Petroc Sesti commented on the finished piece; “As a contemporary artist I rely on 1st Byte for my bespoke catalogues and can't recommend enough their new creative department how it has helped me further develop my work in print, also resulting in a new eye-catching metallic iridescent front cover for the publication. Such an effect needs to be seen to be believed!”

Lawrence Dalton, Managing Director of 1st Byte, commented; “As a leading digital printer we can create spectacular pieces for medium run campaigns to small bespoke pieces such as Petroc’s catalogue. The use of new and revolutionary materials such as Mirri on the HP Indigo now widens our innovative and creative design process further”.

He added; “We regularly produce high end event tickets, decorative restaurant menus, personalised direct mail, corporate presentation and tender materials, plus many other items all using our innovative HP Indigo digital technology”.

Richard Gillgrass, Managing Director of Mirri, commented; “Its great to see digital printers picking up the new Mirri Pak for HP Indigo and using the substrate for a range of different campaigns. The image used for the cover really shows off the metallic substrate to it’s best”.

1st Byte is also a certified Color-Logic Printer. The Process Metallic Color SystemTM by Color-Logic used on the image of the brochure is a patent pending technology, which empowers its users to create and print striking special effect designs. To find out more about Color-Logic, please go to
